    I’m working on my website right now, and I’m having trouble writing blog posts for it.

    It’s not a blog like this one. This here is just for my thoughts and random things from my life. My other blog is more of a writing project, where I want to write about the things that interest me and that I know I can write about. The problem is, my mind is drawing a blank on what to write about.

    I want to save my movie reviews for this blog, and little snippets here and there.

    I guess I have to sit for a bit and think about what value I can add using my blog. I hope I figure it out soon enough so that I can start filling out my website with posts.

  • It’s My Birthday Today!

    I turned thirty-three! 🎊 I spent Thursday with my family then spent the night with my cousin. On Friday yesterday my friend came over and we hung out. Today I’m going to a birthday lunch with my family 😊 it’s been a good birthday weekend so far!

  • The English Patient

    I watched The English Patient this weekend over a couple of sessions (it’s 2 hours 42 minutes long). I enjoyed it. It was dark in places, almost too dark for me thematically, but what can you expect from a movie set during a world war?

    The storyline was engaging, and I enjoyed the acting. I think the acting was the highlight of the movie, actually. Especially Ralph Fiennes’ portrayal of his character.

    One of the parts of the movie that stuck out to me was the villa in Italy and their life there. Everything seemed so simple. Eating a plum from the garden, showering under a faucet, just little details like that that made the movie feel cozy, almost.

    I think this is a movie I will rewatch one day, and watch for all the things I missed during my first viewing. I’m glad I watched it last weekend, it was time well spent.

  • Website Troubles

    I’m trying to build my main website but I’m having trouble with the static site generators I’m using. Docusaurus was my #1 choice and I got to adding some content, but it won’t build properly. Issues with the base url, it says. I don’t know if it’s a me problem or a docusaurus problem because I tried starting a fresh website and just building that, but I got the same issue.

    Mkdocs was the second generator I used, and I’m still having trouble building the website. The links in the build aren’t pointing to the correct locations. Come to think of it, the links in the docusaurus build weren’t working either. I wonder if it’s something I’m doing.

    I’m going to try one more site generator and if it doesn’t work I don’t know what I’ll do, to be honest. Part of me is still hoping that I can get docusaurus to work. That would be ideal.

    At least I have this blog to keep me going until I can figure this out.

    Edit: got docusaurus working! Yay!

    My cold has turned into a chest infection. I haven’t been taking care of myself like I should have been. Wish me luck 😓.

  • Under The Weather

    I’ve had a cold all weekend. I’m a little sad I spent most of my time in my room, but at least I got to rest.

    My head was feeling hot but my body had a chill. I didn’t get many aches and pains so I don’t think it’s the flu. I don’t think I’ve had a fever either.

    The plan for the rest of the night is to watch some TV with my rest lights on (Hue bulbs), then go to bed for work.

    I wish we had three-day weekends already 😕.

  • Arrested Development

    Arrested Development is my favorite TV show. I even choose to love the last two seasons (yes, really). I can tell in places where it drops off here and there, but it is still ultimately a TV show I can watch over and over again, all the way through.

    I’m currently on season 2, episode 11 Out on a Limb. Michael reunites with a pregnant looking Maggie, and Buster gets an unexpected visitor. Admittedly, I started to write this post about five minutes in. It’s the kind of show I can sit and watch with purpose or just have playing in the background when I need it.

    I have had the idea of not touching the show for a decade, then rewatching it all again. I might do that after this rewatch. I think it’ll help me appreciate the things I’m taking for granted about the show. It was a novel show, and I think I’m missing a lot of the novelty because I’ve just seen it so many times that it all looks familiar to me.

    Back to the episode 😋.

    Fridays are a lazy day for me. I rarely do anything on a Friday because I like to just lounge around in my pajamas. I think I’m in my Lazy Girl era because I’ve been doing this for a while.

    I’m enjoying my Fridays right now, I’m enjoying them a lot.

    I’m watching a movie in my bedroom and all my lights are off. I really enjoy hanging out in the dark like this.

    My day was okay today. Some stuff I expected to happen didn’t which is fine but I’m still a little disappointed. At least I got my new bumper sticker! Pictures next post.
